Ensure high throughput for Flu Season: COVID-19, Flu A, Flu B and RSV - Benedikt Hampen

With the upcoming flu season uncertainty is increasing as to whether the symptoms present are signs of a "normal flu" or a highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 infection. The real time RT-PCR kit presented here detects SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A, Influenza B and RS viruses in only one test. In addition the internal cell control indicates if sufficient cell material for a valid test is present in the sample.

Virologic real-time PCR

Against the massive spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, our reliable CE IVD certified tests help to locate infected persons safely. This is the only way to prevent the unchecked spread of the virus.

False negative results, due to insufficient sampling with too little cell material, are excluded by this tests. The detection of a human gene that occurs universally in cells in ViroQ and ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2 tests check whether sufficient cell material is available for valid results.

By the way: With our kits you remain independent from dedicated providers - they work with common RNA-Isolation kits and common real time cyclers. The test results are available in only 90 minutes - with ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2 (thanks to the optimized PCR protocol) in less than 60 minutes.

We have also thought about the logistics costs: To keep them as low as possible, our test kits can be shipped uncooled. A control temperature of - 20 degrees Celsius is only necessary during storage.

Intelligent typing of disease associations - with the real-time PCR kits of the FastQ® linie directly from blood samples or DNA

Lich, November, 11th 2020 – In order to be able to clearly type disease associations in an even more time- and cost-efficient way, BAG Diagnostics is developing a new product line: With the kits of the FastQ® series, celiac disease, M. Bechterew et al. and Haemochromatosis can be determined quickly and reliably by real-time PCR. It does not have any relevance whether the raw material is present as DNA or blood sample. Thanks to the Blood Booster Reagent developed especially for FastQ®, blood samples can even be easily diluted and pipetted directly. FastQ® B27 direct for typing of M. Bechterew et al. - directly from blood as starting material - is already available. For the typing of M. Bechterew et al. and Celiac disease from DNA the test kits are also already available.
 
It is no longer conceivable to imagine human genetics without real-time PCR for the typing of disease associations. The new FastQ®-Line from BAG Diagnostics combines the advantages of real-time technology with high-performance multiplex PCR. Within a single PCR approach, genes associated with celiac disease, M. Bechterew et al. and Haemochromatosis can be detected from DNA as well as from blood samples as starting material.
 
The PCR programme used ensures an optimized workflow: once set up, it can be used for all FastQ® kits. The specificity of the reaction is defined both by the primer sequences and the probe sequence. This increases the resolution and reduces false-positive reactions to a minimum.
 
 
Blood Booster – pipette directly from blood
The FastQ® direct kits eliminate the need for time and cost intensive DNA isolation. Thanks to the specially developed Blood Booster Reagent, the advanced real-time assays allow PCR amplification directly from diluted blood samples. The stabilising effect of the reagent allows absolutely safe and reproducible results even with very fresh and difficult blood samples (e.g. with a high EDTA concentration).
 
Minimised Hands-On-Time
Depending on the starting material - DNA or blood samples - results are available after 60 or 90 minutes. Ready-to-use standard reagents and optimised multiplexing ensure a high data throughput. For reliable results, an internal amplification control is included in every PCR approach.
 
Optimised workflow
Real-time PCR works without gels and guarantees a simple workflow and safe handling. Cost-intensive disposal of environmentally harmful toxic residues is not necessary. Working with closed reaction vessels after amplification also prevents contamination in the post-PCR area.

Influenza, Corona, RS-Virus? Fast response in only one PCR run with ViroQ SARS-FluA/B-RSV

Lich, October 23th 2020 – "Normal" flu, RSV infection or CORONA? This is a question that preoccupies patients and healthcare staff in autumn and winter equally. The newly developed PCR rapid test from BAG Diagnostics provides a quick answer. ViroQ SARS-FluA/B-RSV detects in just one PCR run whether the samples present contain SARS-CoV-2, RS, influenza A or B viruses. In addition, as with the pure corona test ViroQ SARS-CoV-2, the real-time kit indicates whether sufficient cell material for valid test results is contained in the samples from throat and nose swabs.
 
Autumn is flu season. For many people, uncertainty is increasing as to whether the symptoms present are signs of a "normal flu" or a highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 infection causing COVID-19. BAG Diagnostics, specialised in the development and distribution of in-vitro diagnostics, has further developed its successful PCR rapid test ViroQ SARS-CoV-2: In just one PCR run, laboratories can reliably detect whether tracheal secretion / sputum samples contain SARS-CoV-2, RS, influenza A or B viruses.
 
The test also shows whether there is sufficient cell material available for valid test results. Incorrectly reported negative results, which occur in conventional tests due to too little material in the samples taken, can be avoided with the new BAG kit.
 
Fast and flexible to use
Ready-to-use standard reagents and an optimised one-step PCR run ensure high throughput in laboratories. Test results are available after only 60 minutes.
 
With ViroQ SARS-FluA/B-RSV, laboratories remain independent of suppliers. The rapid test can be combined with common RNA isolation kits. It is designed for use with commercially available real-time PCR instruments.
 
"During development, it was also very important to us to create a product that could address the needs of patients, physicians and laboratories alike. So on the one hand, another focus was on delivering fast and reliable results. We succeeded in doing this with an optimised PCR protocol. This saves us a good half hour compared to conventional products. That means at least one more complete PCR run per day. On the other hand, we wanted to create conditions for immediate use - in other words, no binding to a specific hardware or other components," explains Dr. Ingo Meier, Division Manager BAG Diagnostics.
 
Cost-effective shipping
Diagnostics that require permanent cooling are considerably more expensive in terms of logistics. The new test kit has therefore been designed so that it can be shipped uncooled. This ensures that the quality is not affected by temperature fluctuations.

ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2 – for faster results

Lich, October, 14th 2020 – To enable an even more efficient sample throughput, BAG Diagnostics GmbH has perfected its well-established real-time PCR kit for the detection of SARS-CoV-2: With ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2, valid results are now available after less than 60 minutes instead of 90 minutes. The optimized PCR protocol enables laboratories to evaluate an entire test run more per day.

The increasing number of people infected with the corona virus worldwide requires a high volume of reliable rapid tests. In order to deliver valid results quickly, the established German company BAG Diagnostics has optimized the PCR protocol of the certified rapid test ViroQ SARS-CoV-2. With ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2, laboratories can now make statements on the available sample material in less than 60 minutes.

Fast One-Step Real-time PCR
ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2 is designed for the specific detection of the viral RNA genes E and RdRP of SARS-CoV-2 from throat/nose swabs. In the test kit the RNA is transcribed from SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) to cDNA in the first step of the PCR protocol. This cDNA is amplified in the same, now optimized real-time PCR protocol. The modified PCR protocol is applicable to both kit variants of ViroQ. The fluorescent dyes used are compatible with the common real-time cyclers. Therefore, laboratories remain independent from dedicated providers.

Cell material check for valid test results
The tapping of tracheal secretion and sputum is a difficult procedure: If one proceeds too forcefully, blood impurities can worsen the performance. If you are too reluctant, you will get an inadequate tap with too less cell material. To make sure that there is enough cell material for a detection, the ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2 kit checks whether a human gene that is universally existing in cells is present in sufficient quantity. The PCR test excludes false negative results caused by insufficient samples.

No cooling for transport
The ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2 test kits – just like the ViroQ SARS-CoV-2 variant – can be shipped uncooled. A control temperature of -20 degrees Celsius is only necessary for storage.
