Silopren LSR 47X9 Self-bonding Liquid Silicone Rubber

Description
The Silopren LSR 47X9 series is a two-component self-bonding liquid silicone rubber for injection molding processes. Silopren LSR 47X9 offers primerless adhesion to a variety of substrates including polycarbonate, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), and co-polyesters. Silopren LSR 47X9 series is currently available in hardnesses of 30, 40 and 50 shore A durometer.

The Silopren LSR 47X9 series offers primerless adhesion to a variety of thermoplastic substrates, which can allow greater cost efficiency in the manufacture of high-volume multi-component injection molded or insert molded parts. The self-bonding nature of the Silopren LSR 47X9 series allows adequate bond strength to be reached without the need for pretreatment of the substrates surface. Like standard liquid silicone rubbers, Silopren LSR 47X9 also has high temperature stability, and can easily be pigmented with LSR color pastes.

Key Features and Typical Benefits of Silopren LSR 47X9
  • Primerless adhesion to polycarbonate, PBT, and co-polyesters
  • No adhesion to the mold
  • High thermal stability
Potential Applications
  • Membranes and diaphragms
  • Surgical and dental instrument grips
  • Other hard-soft combinations

Silicone Gels for Advanced Wound and Scar Care

Momentive’s silicone gels offer high, yet atraumatic, adhesion to skin with biocompatibility, as well as opportunities for improved production efficiencies, making them excellent candidates to consider for advanced wound care applications.

Momentive’s Silopren* silicone gel product family is inherently water vapor and gas permeable, and thus able to promote wound healing through moisture transport. The Silopren silicone gel family can also provide wound care products with secure skin adhesion, as well as allow atraumatic removal, which is especially critical for fragile skin, such as that of many elderly patients.

Silopren silicone gels also offer excellent benefits to products that are repeatedly applied to and removed from patients, as wound dressings utilizing Silopren silicone gel are able to be repositioned. Additionally, Silopren silicone gels offer high tack, which can allow the manufacture of wound care dressings with lower silicone coat weights, and in turn enable production efficiencies.
